JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist with and oversee the functions and working of warehouse staff including prioritizing work, assigning daily tasks and targets, showing, or adjusting work procedures to meet changing demands, supervising proper shift allocations, and ensuring optimum efficiency of all warehouse staff.
  • Monitor and assist in daily warehouse activities including ensuring accuracy of shipments and supporting documentation for conformance to policies and procedures, receiving incoming material, routing material to designated area, utilizing warehouse space in the best possible manner by rotating stock in allocated storage space.
  • Support the Team Leaders and Supervisors in resolving issues such as shortages, damages, discrepancies in documentation and freight. Provides regular written and verbal reports to local branch management concerning customer specific issues.
  • Manage inventory monitoring cycle counts and conduct audits to validate results.  Manage and review the use of on-hand systems to identify receipt and location of every shipment received.
  • Conduct periodic audit of cargo coming into and exiting the warehouse to conform with established operating procedures.
  • Reviews reports and manages all claims with carriers.
  • Recommend measures to improve quality of service, increasing efficiency of department, staff, and equipment performance.
  • Responsible for working with the Export/Import Manager to promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Communicates regularly with all warehouse staff.
  • Provide training to warehouse staff and enforce safety regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the nature of the position or requested by the Export/Import Manager.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for assisting the Export/Import Manager in supervising all warehouse personnel. Will assist and provide input to the Export/Import Manager regarding all warehouse employee performance.  Carries out responsibilities according to the organization’s management policies, procedures, and any applicable laws. Responsibilities include hiring and training, planning, and assigning daily work, conducting performance appraisals, addressing performance issues, and resolving problems.

 

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Trained and Certified in HAZMAT.
  • Understanding of TSA, U.S. Customs regulations and Forklift Certification is required.
  • Minimum 5 years warehouse experience.
  • Three to five years of supervisory warehouse experience.
  • Ability to work shifts of at least (10) hours, and occasionally longer, (5) days per week
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods.  
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work in cold/hot/ environment.
